I just Upgraded my new DT 80 Dr Model and the Tivo promptly died. Can I take my upgraded drive (500 gb), that was not the issue with my dead tivo, and drop it in another 80hr DT TIVO?

Yes remember to do a Clear & Delete everything. Provided they are the same model. Remember an R10 is not the same model as a series 2. If both are series 2 there should be no problem. :)

Do it on the new machine to marry the drive to the new motherboard.
