I put my Series3 on the 9.2 priority list, did the manual call-in a few days later, and got the Pending Restart. I am recording the 10PM news, and after they signed off, I stopped the recording and then did the reboot command. It gets to the "Few more minutes" screen, and then suddenly reboots... to the Green Screen of Death. After about an hour, it reboots, and goes into the "Installing Update" sequence, and then to normal operation on 9.2j. I notice that my (truncated) News program is gone, but otherwise no further issues, at least in the last 12 hours.
I haven't been having any problems that would suggest a flakey hard drive. I was wondering if I just had unlucky timing that left the MFS file system in a slightly inconsistent state when I restarted it. I understand that the "restart" action is just a hard reset, rather than a more conventional OS shutdown.
Any ideas?
