I re-encoded a high def home movie (1080i) I made to MPEG-2 (using MPEG Streamclip) and it worked fine using Tivo Desktop from my Mac (Once I enabled TTC on the Mac). Nice little extra implies that any HD video, as long as it is re-encoded to MPEG-2 should work.

What resolution did it display it at?

Television stated 1080i in display (Tivo is set for Native Resolution), movie was actually 1140 x 810 MPEG file.

OK, I must have taken a stupid pill today (yep, one of those days). How are you transferring the video to your Tivo using Tivo Desktop on a Mac? All I can do is share out my music and photos.
