View Full Version : Transfering .wmv files from PC to S3
Does anyone know if TiVo Desktop Plus now supports the transfer of .wmv files/movies from pc to s3? Also, do any of the freeware alternatives work with .wmv files (and are they really any good or should I just shell out the $25 for the upgrade to Plus)?
Thanks.

On your TiVo desktop you can click on video and it will give you a list of files it can play. wmv is one of them.
Yes, I know. But the TiVo web site says the Plus sw will not work with S3 and I want to make sure that's only because the S3 did not support TTG before today.

Yeah, I'm sure the note on the website simply hasn't been updated yet... Pony specifically mentioned TD+ in his post this morning.

The Tivo Desktop 2.5 also says it can play .wmv or .avi files but it cannot. Only the plus version has the conversion software. I am not averse to the $25 fee, but as this moves forward toward the HD realm, I am not confident that I would continue using the Tivo software. They already do not support .mkv or MP4 files.
