recently got my new TivoHD and called to set up an appointment to get some cablecards. When I told the guy that answered that i wanted to get a couple cablecards he said hold on let me see if i can find out what that is. He looked it up and asked me what TV was i going to install these in. I told it wasnt a TV but a Tivo, he said ok let me transfer you to the repair department to make sure you get the right ones. The lady that answered set up the appointment no problem. They are coming out this friday 10/26 to install them.
Until then i have the THD hooked up to the cable and watching the analog channels, I'll post my experience with the installation after it happens. Other than the guy not knowing what cablecards were so far so good.

I'm in the Greensboro area and haven't had any trouble with my 2 installs for my S3s. The only problem is the new HD channels being on SDV.

You can't get the 10 new HD channels with a TiVo S3 or anything that uses a cable card. Read here:
http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=cbecf1b9-88de-4b74-82c1-754c3260112a
And read the SDV FAQ in this forum.

well tech guy came to install the cards didnt know what a tivo was and started not to install them but called somebody to check. he wouldnt even look at the paper with the instructions on them so i had to tell him what to do. well turns out one of the cards works but one wasn't set up to work at all straight out the warehouse so i got one card in and the other waiting for a replacement.

well after 3 techs and 4 differnt cards working i finally got everything working the last tech that came out was great spend like 3 hours here at my house calling "level 3" which is apparently over the heads of the regular techs until he got both cards working. once he got them working he stayed an extra 20 mins to make sure they stayed working and asked questions bout what was better bout the tivo over their dvr. i think he became a convert and is gonna get a tivo now.
long story short a few problems along the way but everthings working just fine now.

After spending 2 hours on the phone with 5 customer service representatives, being disconnected TWICE, being blasted by a Technician wondering how I got his number (after I was FORWARDED to him from a rude representative) and told I wouldn't even be CONSIDERED for ANY TYPE of CREDIT to my account due to the channels being switched to SDV, I filed a formal complaint to the regional office.
Long story short: those of us RENTING cables cards are paying for HD CHANNELS we're NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE and being screwed by TIME WARNER CABLE.
I've never experienced such rude service in my life. It's one thing to deal with an unsatisfied customer with respect; it's another thing when you get reprimanded by a stranger for paying them to do their job they're not delivering on.
