Just installed a new 400GB HD in my T2500...which it needed badly; unfortunately, I have a lot of saved programming on the old HD that I would like to transfer to one of my TiVos.

Can the old HD be temporarily setup as a slave drive to access these saved programs?
--Set old HD to slave.
--Use dual drive capable ribbon cable from a PC.
--Use a power cable extension to power dual drives.
Would this be enough for the TiVo to power & recognize the old HD as a second drive and move the saved data to another TiVo or PC (via TTG)?

The old HD has too many bad sectors to run as the primary drive. Consistently fails with error S03 whenever I tried to update it. Typical for an HD with bad sectors I understand.

Thanks, DJ

Thanks, DJ You need to download the boot CD from www.MFSlive.org transfer the old image and shows to the new drive. Good Luck :) The copying is done on your PC. It also has utilities to mark bad sectors. The marking should be done prior to the copying.
