I'm seriously considering switching from Comcast to DirectTV but my wife loves loading non-HD shows (VH1-Realitty shows) on disks on our Tivo DVR-DVD. I know I can't load HD on my current TiVo but can I still hook up my Tivo on one of my TV's that is not HD and record her VH1 shows?? This is my only hang-up to switching to Direct.
Please respond!!!

You will need a regular DirecTV receiver to use as the source for your TiVo. Then use the HD DVR for the HD programming.

Also don't forget that you are in a 2 year contract with Directv and if you cancel early you will be billed for a $300 early termination fee. Also their HD DVR is leased so even when you pay up front for it when you cancel you have to send it back.

But it is prorated right? So the odds of me having to pay $300 is pretty slim.
