Clear and delete

I bought a used DTV/Tivo and went to clear and delete all. It said it has a parental lock and asked for password. As I bought it at a thrift store (dirt cheap I might add) there is no way to locate previous owner. Any ideas what to do? :confused:

Any ideas what to do? :confused: try removing the battery and leaving unplugged for 24 hours, then replace the battery. Just a guess don't know for sure. :)

I don't think removing the CMOS battery will help. You need to contact DirecTV to reset the Password. But you might have problems because it's a used Tivo. Did you verify its account status with the previous owner and DirecTV? Have you already activated it? If it's already activated on your account then DirecTV should reset the Password with no problems.
