PC to Tivo - MP4 to MP2 Conversion

I am using Desktop 2.5 to watch mpeg4 encoded video on my S2. Everything's working fine technically but my PC doesn't have the horsepower to convert the video from MP4-->MP2 fast enough - it takes about 2 minutes to convert 1 minute of video. If I want to watch a 90 minute movie, I have to kick off the transfer, wait 45 minutes, then be able to watch the movie straight through. (I've confirmed the network isn't my bottleneck.)

Does anybody know what the specs are for a PC that could convert 1 minute of video in 1 minute wall time? I'm currently using a 1.6 Ghz Pentium M, 512M RAM, XP Hhome SP2.

Not sure what the minimum spec would be, but a general suggestion to double or quadruple your RAM may get you there. My AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ with 2GB RAM is more than fast enough, but I am sure something in between would do the trick too.
