Got a few shows I've recorded the entire season(so far) of and I'm not sure if they are worth watching. What is your advice?
My Name is Earl (has it jumped the shark, I'm thinking about deleting it)
Californication
Tell Me You Love Me
Journeyman
Chuck
Rescue Me (same as Earl above. Not sure if it's worth it any more)
If any of these are truly duds, I'll save my time, if any are super great, I'll put them to the front of the line.
Thanks!

IMHO, My Name Is Earl hasn't even gone down to beach yet, the best half hour of network television.
I would like to know whether Chuck is worth a look also.

IMO Chuck is like Alias with a less serious tone. I'm still watching so far.

Chuck and Journeyman are worth a look, IMO.

Earl - great, funny stuff
Californication - hysterical, offbeat, and perverse
Tell Me You Love Me - couldn't get thru the premiere
Journeyman - interesting, see if it's for you
Chuck - lighthearted, fun, turn-your-brain-off enjoyment
Rescue Me - the weakest of the 4 seasons, but if you've watched the previous 3, it's worth continuing

Definitely watch Earl and Chuck.
However, do not try to envision Earl and Chuck together. Ew. Can I un-envision that?
Now, Joy and Catalina and Sarah and Ellie together... that I could get behind. Oh, yass. :D

Can't go wrong with just keeping Earl, and watching it when ya have time. Thats what I do will all my 30 minute comedys. I guess you like "Rescue Me" or ya wouldn't have recorded season 4 is it? so ya answered that yourself. ( tho like previous poster, this season really went nowhere).
Since we don't know your taste in shows can't answer the rest.
Billy, Chuck is pretty good and I think you'd enjoy it.
Reaper is not on your list, but I think the same thing about that.

Chuck as an hour show is good, Chuck as a 30 minute show would be great.

Thanks everyone. I feel derelict being behind so much at the start of a season.

I miss getting Entertainment Weekly, I have never even heard of Californication.
ETA: Ah, it's on Showtime, that might be why as well. :)

Don't waste your time on Californication (Duchovny is awful in it) or Chuck (just not up to snuff). Journeyman is worth a try. I haven't watched the others. Oh yeah, and Earl is definitely worth your time. :)

Rescue Me - Don't even bother. If you liked it even just a little bit before, you'll feel trapped and obligated to watch the whole season even though you decide that it's crap by episode 3.
Get out while the getting is good.

My Name is Earl - Earl has always been background fodder for me, but I would keep it around for those times when you don't want to pay too much attention.
Californication - PFFT. Showtime proving they are always worse than HBO, even when HBO is not that good anymore.
Tell Me You Love Me - See Above. This show proves HBO has fallen very far.
Journeyman - I tried to watch the first episode.. deleted the second one.
Chuck - Chuck Chuck. Not funny.
Rescue Me - Has gotten a bit bizarre, but I think this last season is better than the previous year. With so much new stuff on might be hard to squeeze in, but I would save it for the time you realize most of these other shows suck and you need something to watch.

Just watched the first episode of Journeyman on Bravo, will try to get caught up with the rest.
In brief, remember those rumors that Quantum Leap was making a return? Well it appears to me that Journeyman is just that, although this time without the science aspect.

Thanks everyone. I feel derelict being behind so much at the start of a season.
Hell I haven't watched the last two hours of 24 from last season, The last few episodes of the Survivor from TWO SURVIVORS ago... all of last Survivor and I haven't even watched the first episode yet of the final season of The Sopranos...
You're nowhere near 'behind'. :)

Please tell me what other shows *you* watch so I can avoid them as it seem your tastes are about opposite mine (except for Earl)??
Californication is pretty funny and entertaining for my tastes.
Journeyman made no sense to me and wasn't worth my time. (I know the concept, I understand it, but the show doesn't execute well, even with stars that I like in it).
Chuck was pretty good, with Reaper much better for my tastes.
Earl isn't close to shark jumping at all. The first episode (which was a two parter) this season dragged a little, but the second (really the third episode of the season) was very good and had some very funny stuff in it.

Oh... Missing all that other stuff? I'll get to it someday.... but missing ONE episode of Lost? No way man. I can't wait til February. :)
Oh yeah.... I agree. Earl hasn't even gone to the beach yet. :)
You notice THAT show isn't on my 'haven't watched' list.

I'm still liking Californication, even though they have toned down the gratuitous nudity a lot. I've only watched the first episode of Journeyman. I will watch a couple more before I pass judgement on it.
I bailed on Tell Me You Love Me. I don't watch Earl. I haven't watched Chuck yet. Rescue Me is hanging on by a thread after the last season. Other than that, I got nothing.

Thanks everyone.
Based on your advice so far, I flushed 11 hours of Rescue Me, caught up completely on Earl and watched the pilot of Californication.
Thanks for the advice.
PhillyBill,
I dumped 7 hours of last season's Survivor and I believe I've quit the show now as this is the first season I haven't even attempted to record.

My Name is Earl - still great
Californication - eh, background noise for me
Tell Me You Love Me - see Californication, I want it to be good but it's still so slow
Journeyman - I'm keeping it but it's on a thread
Chuck - I like it, even on Mondays which are quite crowded
Rescue Me - it's better in the summer when good TV is hard to find but it's still awesome and worth continuing if you've seen the other seaons

Based on the responses I think I'll check out Chuck. I forgot to record the pilot, should I just start with episode 2 (comfy couch, nice TV) or is it worth watching the pilot online (streaming video at my desk)?
