I have been trying to transfer from the DVR to a computer but i have no manual on how to do it. Been trying with a USB connection. Do i need special software?

Yes you need PTVnet from DVRupgrade to enable the USB ports. If they are not enabled you are wasting your time. :rolleyes:

It is not a simple task for a tivo newbie. Ie many dont know to pull the drive with the operating system on it and will accidently boot the tivo drive with xp ;) The Op may be a pc wiz but if they are a tivo newbie its a whole other world. Good luck :) :)
