TiVoHD recording cut off

Just wondering...I think I know what happened but not why...

Heroes cut off monday night at about the 30-40 second mark...and I can't figure out why. I don't think it was a tuner conflict or overflow and if it was...Heroes is the #1 priority season pass. Wouldn't that mean that it would continue that recording and clip the lower rated one?

It is not big deal but just struck me as odd...any thoughts

Check the recording history.

Does it list the recording as "partial"?

Nope...it does show it as "Duration : 1 hr"

curious...others say it finished just fine...very strange. its like i missed only about 40 seconds or so.

NBC does this on several of their most popular programs. They claim a one-hour slot but actually run their most popular shows anywhere from 30-60 seconds over. They do this so they get an extra advertising slot. Advertising rates for Heroes are substantially more than they are for Journeyman in the 10pm slot.

Some other networks do this as well. FOX has done this for some 24 episodes.

You can set your Tivo to record one minute late, but then your Heroes recording will probably get the first 15-30 seconds of Journeyman. Of course, if you recorded Heroes and Journeyman back to back, this is not really a problem.

Yes i see what you are saying...I don't care truly...just thought it was the "clip" feature...

I wonder how others got the full recording? different markets?

I wonder how others got the full recording? different markets?Nobody got the full recording unless they set their DVR to record one minute late. NBC does this everywhere.
