Burned to DVD but it doesn't work in a DVD player

So I've burned two things now that I have transferred from my TiVo to my computer. When testing to make sure they have burned, the DVD works in my computer but not in a DVD player. The latest thing I did was use VideoReDo to remove commercials then used my Windows Media Center to burn the program. The first show I tried I used Windows Movie Maker and the same thing.

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

When I had a problem like this, it was due to my standalone DVD player.
It will only work with DVD - R blanks.

ETA: If you don't already, when you save the file from VideoRedo, save it as .VOB.

Definitely check the recording format and playback capabilities of the DVD player and make sure the DVD is finalized. That can make a difference sometimes...

Some dvd players just don't like "homemade" dvd's.
