Apologies if this is in the wrong place... The TV I have has a built in NTSC tuner. Will that be able to get HD programming? What about if I switch to D* HD programming with the HD Tivo? Again, sorry if this is in the wrong area. I know NOTHING about HD.

It would not be a bad idea to go HD with your service provider and DVRs while keeping your old analog TV, as that would future you for the moment you replace it (and you can view the HD recordings, not in HD, on your analog TV). But a much better idea is to get the HD display first, get a handle on what it means to see TV in HD, and then select a service provider.

Post the manufacturer and model number of your TV. That's the only way we can be sure. My living room TV only has an NTSC tuner but it is definitely an HD TV.

The above link is to my TV... Since writing the original post, I have found out that it is indeed capable of HD. I was told that, since I am going to be using D* it doesn't really matter the type of tuner I have.
