one time record

I just installed a new Phillips DVD-R and when I go to burn a DVD on a recorded movie on the Tivo
I get a message that the movie is a record one-time movie and it will not record. This is only happens on some of the movie's and it did not happen with the older DVD-R that I replaced.

Ok... so what is anyone here supposed to do about a machine that has DRM (Digital Rights Management) enabled?

If you want to record "everything" to a DVD-R you need to research at a place that discusses DVD recorders and find out which one(s) ignore the DRM settings
