I just bought a 500gb Seagate PATA h/d to upgrade my Directivo from 280gb-1 200 and 1 80, to the 500gb. Will Instantcake help me transfer my recordings to my new drive and enable it to use the 500gb capacity too? Also, does Instantcake have any software on it to enable USB ports or do I need PTVnet?

Thanks

No, InstantCake does not enable the USB ports. Consider MFSlive (mfslive.org) to copy the disk.

Do I need to format the 500gb drive, or will it work without me formatting it?
