Cable Channel question

I have a stupid question. Our local ABC affiliate is now back on our cable company in HD, but they are still not sure what channel number it will be. My question is if the channel does it up changing how do the S3 and TivoHD get there channel maps? I need to make some room and hit the lottery and hopefully will switch to a TivoHD.

The channel mapping is handled by the cable cards.
