I finally entered some favorite channels. 702, 704, 705, 711,713, 740, 750... All my commonly used HD channels. But when I search by time...

If I hit page down, it takes 20 to 30 seconds to scroll down.

It's slow on your S3? That's weird, 8.3 pretty much fixed speed for everybody else. If you had a TiVoHD running 8.1, that would explain it.

It's probably because there are several hundred cable channels before my favorites even start.

Remember, with 8.3.x, the Tivo only processes the information for channels you have checked in Settings -> Channels. Whenever you do any kind of search or guide display, the Tivo processes the data for every channel you have checked.

Removing channels you don't watch or record from can significantly improve search and guide performance. That 'speed up' won't necessarily happen instantly, but as the Tivo indexes new guide data.
