Forgive me, I'm only moderately technical but am loosing my
mind (and have spent countless hours on the phone with both
TiVo and Time-Warner to no avail).
I just purchased both a wide-screen HDTV and TiVo HD, and my cable
provider (Time-Warner cable) has now installed
a high definition box for our new HDTV. But I can't figure out how
to configure the TiVo unit into this setup I also have wireless internet
which we successfully used to activate the TiVo, but I can't receive any
picture when I am on the component channel for Tivo. But you can
see the channel information and Tivo's home screen.
Can anyone help me with this please?

You can't use a Set Top Box to receive channels on an HD. You must use cable cards which Time Warner will supply. There are numerous discussions in the community about cable cards.

Thank you - forgive me again, what do you mean by
a set top box.

That would be your cable box or in your case the HD cable box. The Tivo HD uses cable cards.

Call TW and tell them you need two "S" cable cards or one "M" cable card installed. Tell them you'd like Motorola cable cards if at all possible. Schedule an appointment to have the cable cards installed.

Before the tech arrives follow the connection layout on the installation sheet which is appropriate for your system or look here (http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=bad46d05-fe86-485b-852a-bcb902ebd80a). (You'll have to disconnect the TW HD box and take it out of the mix.)

When the tech arrives, give him the cable card setup sheet provided with your TiVo HD and you’ll be in business.

Click here (http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=07e4e622-2e6a-49c7-9885-68fcba4b991a) for more info about TiVo HD and cable cards.

Note: when they install the cable cards in your Tivo, the Tivo becomes the cable box. They should remove their cable box and take it away. Also make sure to insist that they test the cable cards in their office before bringing them to you. Some cards have gone bad, and you want to make sure you get the ones that work.

You won't have a choice what brand cards to get. You will get the same brand cards as the cable box you have.

As a rule TW usually uses SA on their systems, FWIW.
