Getting updates with always on PPP

after lots of reading, I was able to successfully configure "always on" ppp on SA1 with 3.0 and WinXP. I have telnet and tivoweb which is really nice.

One problem is getting daily updates. even with dialing prefix of ,#211, the call always fails. It works only when I have "always on" ppp disabled.

Any solution to this problem?

the ,#211 dialing prefix is ONLY used for an external modem (ppp doesn't qualify)
