NowPlaying Summary Code

Thur. morn. my Philips 704 unit in my bedroom got a Service Connection. It wiped out my NowPlaying Summary Code and my 30 sec. skip. I was able to get the 30 sec. skip back but not the NowPlaying Summary Code. The Main unit, also a Philips 704 was not effected as it did not get the Service Connection Thur. morn.

When I the Main unit got the Service Connection Sun. morn. I lost both the NowPlaying Summary Code and the 30 sec. skip on that unit too. I did get the skip back but not the NowPlaying Summary Code.

I used thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs up, 7,8. Is that the right code?

If your tivo just updated to 6.3e, then it's gone forever unfortunately. Tivo removed that backdoor in later sw releases.

Maybe there is no good answer to this question, but WHY?

Wouldn't it seem better for the viewer to have more options rather than fewer options? This backdoor didn't hurt anything. It wasn't causing problems, was it?

Just curious.
