Update Software Code??

I have a Sony T-60 and it still has an old version of sofware on it - something like 2.5.3. I have read that DTV is going to send new software next year and I would like to update to that new version. I am thinking my Dtivo is setup so that it will not update software. I am thinking there is some code I can give it with the remote to allow it to update but can't remember the code or how to do it.

Anyone have any ideas?

the new update is for the Series 2 DTivos the T-60 is a series 1

But haven't the series 1 Tivos had new software after the 2.5.3 version?

yes, there are newer versions for series 1 dtivos, but there is NO software for series 1 that has HMO, HME, MRV, or folders, AFAIK

p.s. the directv announcement specifically states that the newer s/w is only for series 2
