Humax DRT-800 Burner Problem

My Humax DRT-800 Burner reads and plays DVD's but will not burn them It says "dvd format not valid". I've used it before, but I have no idea what t o do now. Are there any updates to fix this or do I need to replace the DVD-R drive? Can I put in any type? WHat about drivers?

Make sure you are using -R or -RW disks and not +R or +RW - it's an easy mistake to make.
