Well last weeks ending was pretty screwy so Tommy better not of done something dumb with his kid (or his brothers kid). Ouch that had to hurt with the car and the beating Tommy took! Was that Gina Gerchon at the end?

Gershon, yes.

Definitely a disfunctional family! What a fight.

Does this mean no more ghosts? Did they "kill" themselves in his mind so they won't come back?

I can't believe that after rescuing a bunch of people that the responding firefighter was a jerk to him. He should have at least gave him kudos for the rescues.

The Chief's daughter is a nutjob....but it looks like it will lead to us seeing more Gina Gershon....mmmm! ;)

Pretty good episode.....glad they didn't have him kill the baby...that would have ended the show for us....no way we could watch it after that......although just the fact that he thought about it is sickening. I guess that maybe that was the catalyst to drive the ghosts away though, so it might put him on a better path.

Also, that's Amy Sedaris as the chief's daughter.

This show better pick up, pacing is way to slow for your 12 show season. I do believe janet is out of her post mortem depression. I thought probey was going to catch hell for not wearing his seat belt. "New Sean" was wearing his and walked away from the crash.

The chief's daughter is a total nut job!

Lou at the bar with his cousin.

Tommy would have done the same thing if his crew was responding.

Tommy's dream sequence was out there.

This episode seemed very surreal. I thought most of it was going to turn out to be Tommy having started drinking again and most of it was his delusions.

I'm an advid fan of Rescue Me since the beginning and haven't missed a single episode, so I'm not the type of person to be eager to knock the show.

Maybe it's just me, but this season so far has been a little dull. I don't know if dull is the right word, maybe just not compelling. It's like something is missing. I don't know what. I miss the dynamic that the old chief brought to the storylines. There's a minor void with him gone.

Tommy is drifting aimlessly through the series at this point. The back and forth with the wife has gotten tiresome. Sheila seems to just be drifiting around as well. There's always a half dozen storylines going on at any given time, so I don't mind that. But none of them are grabbing me right now. Things that were cool at first but that are now starting to annoy me are the firefighting scenes with the music played over the top of them, Tommy's "visions" of his cousin and brother, and Lou's miraculous penchant for being able to get younger, smoking hot women to somehow date and sleep with an older, reasonably unattractive fat guy.

I still won't miss an episode, but I'm not feeling it like I was the first couple of seasons.

I don't think anyone gets over postmortem depression :D
(I believe you meant postpartum)

Hm... I would think they'd get over it pretty quickly with the 10,000 virgins awaiting them.

Couldn't agree more. I have to force myself to watch the show now and that bums me out because I once loved it!

Something is definitely different this year. I can't even put my finger on it, but the tone is off or something. The episodes just don't seem to flow right. They seem a little disjointed.

I'm still gonna watch as I'm invested in the characters. But I have to say that if I had started watching this year, I don't know if I'd stick with it.

I agree that this season hasn't been very compelling. Still better than most stuff out there but not up to Rescue Me standards.

Was one of the ghosts playing cards at the kitchen table supposed to be Jerry? He kinda looked like him from the back but they never got close enough to tell (on purpose, I'm guessing).

I am guessing that it was supposed to be him. But it didn't really look like him. Maybe it was a doll?

I too agree that this season seems "off" in some form or another. Don't know why, but I am not enjoying it as much as the first 3 seasons.

That was Lou's cousin at the bar? I didn't even pay attention. I just wrote it off as some drunk guy. Funny how he stopped Lou's beer grab.

I don't think that Tommy's ghosts are gone. We might have just seen him have a psychotic breakdown. Especially given the way he reacted to it. And he didn't even care that his Caddy got towed. (BTW, why did it get towed?)

I think they towed it because he was not making the payments.

Didn't Sheila give it to him or am I not remembering correctly?

Yes Sheila gave him the truck. I will stand by the fact (maybe opinion) that the show started to go downhill when Tommy got rid of the red truck.

Yes she did. Back in season 3 IIRC. That's exactly why I asked why it was towed. I don't recall anything being said about payments. Just that she wanted to trade him the new Caddy even for the old red Ford.

Looking back at it again I didn't see any "No Parking" signs, I can't see the curb to see if it is a no parking zone, no hydrants or anything like that. Totally confused as to why the truck was towed. One more thing this season that doesn't make sense.

Still waiting to know who the hell the ghost in the firehouse is.

Maybe he was in a 2 hour spot and didn't wake up in time to move it.

That was one of the worst looking "guy gets hit by car" scenes I've ever seen. She was going maybe 3 mph and was 2 feet away from him. Impossible for him to have gotten hurt, yet they played it up like it was a huge deal. Lame.

I've also been down on this season. We knew there was zero chance of him dropping the baby, so that was completely pointless. The close-ups of whatever stupid book Tommy is reading couldn't be more annoying. Janet freaking out after Tommy gets rid of the baby didn't make any sense. She hated the baby, why would she care? And now the new probie is gay too? Are all probies gay?

What makes you say that? I thought he was just looking for signs of the supposed knife wound where Janet was supposed to have stabbed him.

Did anyone mention Gina Gershon yet? I had some things to say about the last episode, then I saw the preview. Didn't know it was her until then.

I want to be Denis Leary. He also casted her in The Job.

I just looked her up, surprised that she is 45 already. Smokin.

And her character will have a recurring role for the next 6 weeks!

She was in the "Psych" season premier playing the Paula Abdul-type character in an "American Idol" spoof and looked really bad ... but of course, she was supposed to.

He checked out Tommy's ass. How are you going to see a stab wound through his jeans? He was checking out the goods man.

I didn't get that AT ALL from that scene. I agree that he was looking for a wound.

Only if seeing ghosts of ghosts is somehow less likely than just seeing regular old ghosts.

Wow. Emmy-worthy performance there by Leary.
