Lost? Ausiello has the scoop (http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-Ausiello/default.aspx?rssDate=08082007). Wow, if this comes true, I cannot say how excited I would be. It might be the best way for me to get over the demise of Veronica Mars, short of a Veronica Mars movie.

Ugh.

Good for her; work is work. But I won't be watching, as Lost is, to quote Shakespeare, "sound and fury signifying nothing".

Everything JJ Abrams does should be titled All Questions, No Answers.

I am tired of that trope, especially from people who apparently aren't watching the show. It reminds me of a quote from Shakespeare...

Anyway, at least you are happy she may be working.

I did watch. For two seasons. And then when I discovered that Abrams and his writers are more impressed with how clever they're not than telling a story, I bailed.

Hey I also like John From Cincinnati and that could be called anything but conventional.

I certainly don't need things spelled out for me. (One of my favorite films is Tarkovsky's Solaris.) Lost, however, is too impressed with itself to be anything other than a McGuffin, as Hitchcock coined the word. Lost is now The X-Files, in terms of "where" exactly it's going. I was a big X-Files fan; the creators then said, "Trust us - we know where we're going, we know how it'll end." And of course, that was a lie. Now Abrams, Lindelof, and Cuse are espousing those same things. Fool me once...

Abrams isn't even involved in the show anymore. And did you miss the news that Lindeloff and Cuse pushed for, and got, a defined end date for the series so they could resolve the various plot threads at a defined pace and then pull the curtain?

Anyway, the question of questions-vs-answers gets debated in every Lost thread, and there's no reason to continue it here. We can agree to disagree. (For the record, I have felt impatience on that score occasionally myself.)

C'mon, Kristen, you know you want to...

KB does sound ideal for the role, but with her movie career about to take off with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I doubt she'd want to commit to anything on TV long term right now. But I'd love to see her on Lost, even if just a few episodes.

That would be so great! I was so disappointed when Veronica Mars was canceled and I've vowed to never watch another CW show again. Which shouldn't be too difficult considering that their lineup consists of really "smart" programs like "The Search for the Next Pussy Cat Dolls" etc... ugh.

Damn, that J.J. Abrams for leaving us hanging with all those questions concerning What About Brian.

We're obscuring the subject line for actors joining a show now, out of fear of people being spoiled?

Where's the damage in knowing a certain actor is joining a show? It's not like when someone is leaving and their character may die. Shows have new cast join all the time. And the name of the actor alone doesn't hint at the role they're playing, nor does Kristen have an active show that it would be implied she's leaving.

I think we're being a little too spoiler sensitive here. The gist of spoiler warnings is to prevent premature exposure to plot development in my opinion.

jschuur, you don't want to start this conversation. Especially in any Lost context, even the most teeny, tiny CONCEPT of a spoiler has resulted in hundreds of nasty messages from both sides. Just back away, slowly... :D

Well, clearly Kristen is so cute and funny, that she could never play an evil Other. So she must be a Lostie from the plane, and this means at least one of the regulars will die early on to give her enough room to shine.

I don't think Hurley and Kristen could co-exist in the same show, so I take this as a sign that Hurley will be killed off soon ;)

I didn't think the subject line was about spoilers, I thought it was about building anticipation to force you to open the thread. If the OP had been concerned about offending the Losties, he would have put "Lost Cast News *Spoilers*" in the subject line. If anything, Losties should be annoyed at the subject because the don't know it is a Lost thread until they open it.

Oh, and I'm with FilmCritic3000 except I only lasted about 8 episodes before I gave up on Lost.

boy you arent kidding. Reminds me of this-

Final Harry Potter Book Blasted For Containing Spoilers (http://www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/final_harry_potter_book)
NEW YORK—Harry Potter fans throughout the world were shocked, disappointed, and outraged to learn last week that J.K. Rowling's 750-page novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, blatantly answers every looming question in the 10-year-long saga, even going so far as to divulge what happens to key characters 20 years into the future.

"The whole experience is completely ruined for me," said 25-year-old fan Ethan Clay, adding that the book builds up suspense, and then, without warning, gives away vital, plot-altering information. "The least [Rowling] could have done was put a spoiler alert or something on the front cover."

Anyway, "Lost" should be really good next season. The last 10 or so episodes of season 3 were awesome.

Apparently you've only seen her in veronica mars? She played a pretty nasty person in Deadwood and was the ultimate teenager with angst in Spartan. Plus she had some musical on HBO I never saw ... from what I could gather it was an S&M musical though :p

You have got to be kidding me!?! does not want to relocate to Hawaii? What is wrong with her? I really can not see turning down a part on a top 10 show with people who also make feature films on the side and have huge connections in the business.

I mean I love me some KB but this is a bad decision.

She was in Deadwood? Playing who? I didn't know VM when I watched.

Why would she have to relocate? How many months of the year do they shoot?

Did anyone see KB on Craig Ferguson last week (Thursday?)? I missed it. Apparently he asked her about the Lost gig and she said she didn't know anything about it. So I really doubt that she was offered the role and turned it down. That appears to be pure fiction.

She played Flora, the young prostitute/con artist who met a very bad end. She was in two episodes, iirc.

ETA: Aint it Cool (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33646) has a detailed report from the Hawaii set of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the Judd Apatow-produced movie that KB is starring in with Jason Segel.

So I really doubt that she was offered the role and turned it down. That appears to be pure fiction.I did, and that's true. She first heard about the rumor from one of Craig's producers before the show in her pre-interview. She also said she was in Hawaii for three months making a movie with Judd Apatow. That is undoubtedly how the rumors got started about Lost in the first place.

Well everyone got fed to the pigs that is not much of a spoiler. I was referring to the beating she took outside Saul's place where she sat there gurgling blood until someone finally put her out if her misery.
