I really like Burn Notice.

I'll always like Doctor Who.

Robin Hood on BBC is pretty entertaining.

The 4400 has been very good so far.

Painkiller Jane isn't bad enough to drop the Season Pass. I didn't have high hopes so I'm not disappointed.

This was my first season of TiVoing The Closer. It's an ok show but every episode is basically the same. There's a crime, they spend the next 30 minutes investigating, Brenda pulls the solution out of her butt, the perp collapses like a house of cards and confesses at the 54 minute mark. Come on. Almost nobody confesses in the real world.

David Milch ripped HBO off with John From Cincinatti.

The Closer isn't as much about the case as it is the people in the Department.

Damages looks good, Rescue Me is great and we are trying to get into Saving Grace. No summer shows on the big Networks, all on cable.

Unfortunately for me, I find the rest of the people in the department to be more interesting than Brenda.

How about:
America's Got Talent
So You Think You can Dance
Hell's Kitchen
Big Brother 8

Yeah I know alot of people are turned off from Reality shows..
But during the summer when I should be outside or on vacation, these are great no brainer shows to tivo for those nights that its raining outside. And best thing is, if you miss an ep they spend the first 10 min of the shows just rehashing what happened the week before. I think its great summer TV

Mine are:

Mad Men
Damages
Big Brother
Rescue Me
My Boys
So you think you can dance
And David Milch is a genius with John From Cincinnati and I am glad HBO gave an artist some room to do something out there.

The only thing I'm watching is "Rescue Me". I got caught up on the last 15 episodes of "Lost" during June and July. Otherwise, I just have too much other stuff to do during the summer.

Monk
Psych
Rescue Me
Saving Grace
Army Wives
4400
Burn Notice
Kyle XY

I remember when Summer was a time to catch up on repeats of fall season shows. Not anymore, I think I watch Almost as as many shows during summer as I do during Fall.

I was planning on catching up with some of the fall shows this summer but I have way too many summer shows to watch too. These are the ones I'm watching now:

The 4400
Kyle XY
Fight Girls
Big Brother
Ice Road Truckers
Hell's Kitchen
Age of Love
On the Lot
Rescue Me
Top Chef
Last Comic Standing

I normally don't watch this much reality TV, I don't know what happened this summer.

Then there's my list of shows that I have saved up and haven't gotten to yet:

Big Love Season 2 (never watched Season 1)
Traveler
Eureka
My Boys
Meadowlands
John from Cincinatti
Burn Notice
Damages
Mad Men
The Company
The Kill Point
Painkiller Jane

I dropped So You Think You Can Dance, I just couldn't get into it. I can't stand the singing shows and the game shows that are on in prime time. I'm kind of hoping that some of the shows I have here suck so I can get rid of them and free up some space and time.

Please explain the genius of JFK. Unless the last episode, which I haven't seen yet, is the greatest episode ever in the history of tv, John From Cincinatti is batting below the Mendoza line.

Rescue Me is the only thing new scripted show I'm watching this summer. We're watching a bunch of stuff on DVD though, some of which have become "summer shows" to us for the past few years.

Buffy (just started S7)
Angel (about to start S4)
The Closer (S1)
Deadwood (S3 (a bunch of episodes got deleted from my TiVo last summer))
Nip/Tuck (S3)
MI-5 (S4)
The 4400 (S2)
Band of Brothers

I am not going to get into a JFC debate some people get it and some don't it is not for everyone. But seeing that the JFC threads are 2 or 3 pages every week there are lots of people who like it and seeing that most us don't get it we do know there is something great going on.

New shows I like are The Kill Point, Ice Road Truckers, Mad Men, Burn Notice (only watched the pilot so far) and Damages...I'm also curiously intrigued by The Singing Bee...I don't know why, I don't like karaoke, but for some reason I watch that show.
Returning favs Rescue Me, Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef, Big Love, Entourage...Weeds will be back shortly.

I just finished watching season 2 of The Unit and Weeds if that counts for anything.

Doesn't this just about describe every crime based show in existance?

I look forward to Hell's Kitchen every summer but thats about it I think for shows I look forward to.

Shows I'm currently watching (way too many):

The 4400 (wish I could just forget last season, 'cause this season's been great)
Monk
Psych
Mad Men
The Closer

Rescue Me
(though we missed the second show of the season, which is sitting on my computer, waiting to be watched)

Meadowlands (though I suppose it's technically over, I haven't actually watched the last episode)

John From Cincinnati
Saving Grace (Not sure if I like this one yet)
Army Wives
Big Brother

I have Damages recorded, but haven't watched yet.

BTW, if anyone can point me towards an easy way to move a bit-torrented show (.avi) to DVD, it would be greatly appreciated. I tried some method that took an entire day and ended up with a blank DVD :(

This summer I'm watching:

Army Wives
Eureka
...and my extensive DVD collection. Plus whatever I rent from NetFlix or get from Amazon Unbox.

I don't really "love" anything on TV at this moment. As for "hate"... if I don't like it, I don't watch it, and 99% of TV obviously falls into this category. :p

I haven't seen "The Closer". But I actually think what you're saying is true of almost EVERY series.

Every episode of NYPD Blue is almost the same. crime at the beginning, they have some suspects that don't pan out, Sipowitz threatens to beat up some guy, the guy confesses. I enjoy NYPD Blue.

Every episode of Cold Case is almost the same. Crime at the beginning. The woman goes through some false leads then comes up with the real killer, and they play a montage of some famous song from the time period of the flashbacks along with the cool flipping between the past/present people playing the character. I enjoy Cold Case.

I rented most of the first season of Law & Order. Every episode is almost the same... same kind of crime show. For some reason I don't really enjoy Law & Order. (But I didn't hate it enough not to give it another try someday possibly -- in the unlikely case I run out of millions of other DVDs I want to rent.)

Seriously.. I think almost every show is 'the same', and it just depends upon whether that 'sameness' clicks with you or not.

NPO

The Bronx Is Burning (not great but I am compelled to watch. don't know why)
Mad Men (a little on the slow side but love the period depiction)
Traveler (no longer running.lol)
4400
John From Cincinnati (don't know what is going on but still like it. although 2 eps behind due to vacation)
Flight of the Conchords ('Britt' and Jemaine. Kiwi humor. heh heh)
Entourage (getting better than the Medellin eps.)
Burn Notice (really like)
Rescue Me (not as good as past seasons)
Psych
Baseball (O's)

Think I am watch more this summer than last fall/winter/spring. But it is easier with 13 Or less episode seasons.

Oh yeah. The Company was good. Had to watch it live on holiday. Missed the first half hour.
