View Full Version : Reruns you'd really like to see

I noticed today that Junkyard Wars reruns are starting to air on Discovery again. I've probably seen most, if not all of them but I'm glad to see them nonetheless just because it's been a few years.
That got me to thinking about other shows I'd like to see reruns of, stuff that never seems to air. Most recently, I'd love to see reruns of Batttle Bots. Seems like it never aired again after the run ended.
There are tons of shows from the 50's and 60's that I would watch if someone would show them. I wish TV Land had the rights to more content. What would you like to see again?

I haven't seen reruns of Newhart in years. And it's not available on DVD either (but that's another thread).

My girls loved Powerpuff Girls.
On the Superhero theme I wish that somebody would show the Spider-Man and X-Men series from the early 90s, since they still haven't come out on DVD.

I have the complete first season that I got at Wal-Mart awhile ago. Don't know if more seasons are out or not.

Newhart, or the Bob Newhart show? I've got four seasons of Bob Newhart Show on DVD, but have never seen Newhart on DVD.

Johnny Bravo
Dexter's Laboratory
I didn't know they were gonna rerun Junkyard Wars. I've gotta setup an SP for that.
Edit: Turns out Boomerang is showing Dexter's Laboratory. SP is setup.

Seems that the networks being owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church has helped DirecTv decide not to carry it.
"Despite the grim financial prognosis, Chaiai says the church will continue to shoulder ALTV's losses, convinced there should be someplace on the dial where people 50 and older can go to soak up TV series they wallowed in two, three or four decades ago -- and not have to put up with explicit sex, violence and certain four-letter words."

Late 60's or 1988 version?
A Chicago station runs one episode a week of the late 60's/early 70's version. I've been recording them all. I hope to archive all of them to xvid at some point.

Also, i'd love to see at least a DVD release of all the Big Brothers. I think I saw The Mole Season 1 on DVD, but there was no sign of Season 2, so I'd like to see that as well.

Paper Chase definitely. Both the one year CBS season and the Showtime season. A network called Nostalgia (I think?) aired it a few years ago but I'd watch it or buy the DVD's definitely.

Hill Street Blues
thirtysomething
WKRP with the original music
Hill Street Blues has the first two seasons released on DVD. It appears that those two will be all that will be released since the rumored 3rd season that was supposed to appear in "Fall 2006" never materialized.
thirtysomething was re-run on Bravo a few years ago. I had just gotten my Tivo and didn't have enough room to get all of the episodes and record the other stuff I wanted to record daily. Alas, it has never returned. It was rumored that it would be released on DVD, but nothing. I still have a wishlist set up for it though. Perhaps one day. (If anyone has any copies, PM me please.)
WKRP - well.........

KDOC in the LA area is currently showing both the Wild Wild West, and Mission Impossible, uncut!
The two shows I would really like to see again are The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and a very little known show called The Secret Life Of Machines. Both have to be uncut though. How about Strange Luck.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is also being shown on that American Life Network (a channel I never heard of before this thread) - along with The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. and LA Law.

+1 on Earth II. I still occasionally mimic Tim Curry saying "Poppet" from this show.

you people, get the DVDs (where available) instead of hacked up reruns. Even the butchered WKRP on DVD is probably LESS butchered than the reruns.. (not that I'll support it by even renting it though)

That was being rerun on SciFi (I think) until just recently. I had an SP and it would pick up a couple of eps a week, but it never got the one I was waiting for (the one with the belly gunner stuck in the bomber during WWII).

How about The Time Tunnel? Boy, they sure didn't care about altering history like modern time travel stories. You gotta love that rush in there attitude. with all the sword fighting and explosions and rolling through the muck and dirt, did their cloths ever get torn, or even dirty between episodes?

Yeah it was Sci-Fi- I found out about it too late :( I want to see the "buried alive" one. Scared me to death when I was about 10!
