That whole opening sequence, evoking the feel of films like The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Young Girls Of Rochefort while satirizing them at the same time, had me laughing, as did Brett's song about abstaining from sex.

Also...

"See? She's a baker and a sniper." :D

Yeah, that first French sequence was the best part of the episode.

Well, I thought the role-reversal was amusing. Not amazingly original, mind you, but amusing the way they covered just about every cliche. The scene near the end where Lisa was laughing with her girlfriends was great. Usually I find Murray's plots very funny but this one was pretty blah.

Murray in the ghetto with A.J. Jones was pretty hilarious. As were the Top Gun references and the Wham bit.

"I met A.J. Jones"
"He's the brother of Quincy Jones"
....
"And Quincy Jones, he's the music producer, what's some of the albums he's produced?"
"Michael Jackson's Off The Wall"
"Yeah. Whoah. I'll say he is. He's crazy. Off the planet. Isn't he going to freeze himself?"

Hooray, the Vic-20 is back! That's my favorite part of the show... I was afraid we wouldn't see it again after Murray's "upgrade".

I loved the French number. Hilarious.

I've had that "foux de fa fa" chorus in my head for days. I'm glad I know a little elementary French, which made that sequence even that much funnier.

We need more Mel, though. She's a hoot and she's been virtually absent from the last two episodes. We only saw her for a moment when she bought the CD from Murray.

My wife noticed this, which is my favorite part of th show. During the band meeting, over Bret's shoulder hung some photos and brochures from Murray's tour of bandstands and amphitheaters.

I haven't noticed that. I will have to look more closely next time.

I do enjoy the New Zealand tourism posters though.

Is this running out of order? Why does murray have the old computer back? That's exactly what I was wondering! It bummed me out to think they're screwing with the airing order. Not that it's that big of a deal for this show but still... I do love that though. I get nostalgic for my old TRS-80...

What about all those muthahuckas huckin' with my sh?Not that it matters, but CC says "uckers" and "ucking"; no "h". The CC for this show is usually very helpful (and accurate), actually.

I really enjoyed Jemaine cheering Brett up with the Talking Oven. "Let's bake a cake."

I had it stuck in my head for a bit too. Then I was finally rid of it, until it became germane (not to be confused with jemaine) suddenly last night. Now it's stuck in my head again.

I set up a SP for this because I kept seeing threads here about it. I lasted about 5 minutes into it and hated it. I thought that opening scene was something out of Sesame Street. SP deleted.
