anything like this site for non tivo DVR's?(from my cable company?)

I have a tivo lifetime series 2, but was given a WOW cable box with a DVR. is there anywhere i can do some research on that box so i can hook it up to my PC. maybe swap files with my tivo?

All cable supplied boxes, including DVRs, are required to have an active FireWire port. There are hacks available which will allow you to connect that FireWire port to the FireWire input on your PC and capture programs that way. However unlike TTG the capture is live, which means the program has to be playing and takes realtime to transfer to the PC. It's almost like capturing using an analog capture device, accept that youre capturing the original digital stream so there is no conversion loss and you can capture HD programing.
