View Full Version : Want to change TIVO to new box

I have a Hughes SD-DVR40 that died (Green screen with error). I just bought a Hughes HDVR2 from ebay thinking it was an identical box that I could just switch the hard drives. Well, it's not and I'm not sure how to proceed to get a working box for my 2 boys. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, it should boot up. I restored a HDVR2 image to a new drive and it worked in a SD-DVR40 DirecTivo.

After it boots up, you'll need to do a Clear and Delete to marry the new hard drive with the Tivo.

Worked great...thanks! Took about 3 hours to delete everything though, not the 1 hour it said on the screen. Well worth it! :up:
