The answer is so easy it's going to kill all of you. A little laborious all the same.

1. Connect AV cables from the Tivo output to the Tivo input
2. Start recording channel 00
3. Go to recording options from the tivo menu and make it record for as long as the movie is
4. Play the amazon unbox movie
5. Transfer to your computer

In the past you weren't able to actually record channel 0, has that changed? I haven't tested it for a few versions myself.

I did it originally because I was transferring some VHS tapes to the Tivo from a VCR so that I could edit them on my computer. It works. I'm taping channel 0 as we speak. I have a Tivo series 2. It also worked with a Tivo series 2 dual tuner.
