Cablevision/NortherNJ & S3 with cable cards

Just had a few quick questions...couldn't get answers really after a few searches so i figured I'd ask. Just spoke with cablevision about the cable cards with the S3 tivo and he said that I would lose the "Guide" feature or channel? How does the Guide function work with Tivo? I have DTV/HR10-250 currently but am thinking of switching...I hit guide and I get a nice pretty guide to peruse? do I lose this idea with cablecards? or is he saying I lose their channel with the scrolling "guide" but I still have the traditional tivo guide?

Also, are there any other draw backs to the cable cards and S3 versus just the sa 8300? I know I can't get PPV yet with cablecards but don't know of any other...?

They mean you will loose the guide they provide on their cable box. What you will get is the same guides you are currently used to on the HR10-250 as they are the TiVo supplied guides.
