Not enough Richie!

Though it was hilarious when he started to walk up to Mike's mother's coffin at the funeral and Franco stops him. LOL

I was gonna post how it seemed the only ones pussified are the writers of this show. But then I realized that'd make the show like something on Lifetime, and that'd be a decided improvement over the crap they're passing off this season.

And what the heck was with the firefighting scene just sort of thrown in there - I kept thinking to myself, "this has to be a dream" because of all the ridiculous things they were getting into, and then it just went off the screen with no further reference???

I thought it was a dream too. How's that knee now?

I was not paying a lot of attention during the fire scene, but in retrospect it did not seem to really fit in the show in any particular way.

This show really needs to lay off the death for a while. Too much death on this show, and it brings it down. It needs to lighten up a bit, at least for a while.

Tommy's Boss/Mentor, Brother, Son and assorted other people have all died in the last few seasons. Rough life.

Other than the tossed in fire scene I thought it was a great episode. When the therapist thought it was a joke by his friend and says he doesn't have enough time for them was pretty funny. Richie going to the casket was hilarious.

I love how they always pull strings on things, like getting the cause of death changed and the body cremated.

The first time I read that, I thought it was sour grapes. Now reading it with the addition of Tolan's perspective, I am pretty sure it is sour grapes.

Not exactly a way to get another job by the way.

I don't think it will cause him much of a problem... He isn't the first actor to get his panties in a bunch after getting written out of a show. What I read is probably par for the course.

Agreed, he's really really sketchy... they're going somewhere with that for sure..

This show really needs to lay off the death for a while. Too much death on this show, and it brings it down. It needs to lighten up a bit, at least for a while.I agree. It's a tired formula. Somebody dies, then somebody gives a passionate, almost pissed off speech about how great the guy was, and then they make jokes about the guy.

more janet in undies please :)In the first season we used to get Janet in less than undies. Not anymore though. It cracks me up that they keep having these sex scenes where neither party makes any effort to even pull down their undies but then they just start going at it.

And don't get me started on the fake baby scenes. I dunno, this season is lacking in a lot of ways. :(

Anyone still think Sheila is dead ? :)

I'm not going to go as far as swallow up above but the show is definitely off. All the parts seem to be in place but it's just not adding up well for me.

Definitely sour grapes... How else can you rectify these quotes :

I'm not here to character-assassinate him.
"I want to walk away from this as clean as possible, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat it."

With these quotes :

"My own true feeling is, I think the wrong character killed himself," McGee says, referring to Gavin.
"The promos are all him (Leary) -- you'd think there was nobody else on the show."
"He's a bully, is what he is," McGee says. "Bullies most of the time don't have the guts to do things themselves."
McGee says he isn't surprised that Leary never had a face-to-face discussion with him about the decision to write him out, because "that would take a real man to do that. Denis doesn't know how to do that. His persona would make you think he's straight-up, he's honest and he's forthright. But I never got an indication of that. The truth is, if he knocked on my door right now, I'd be able to look him right in the eye. I don't know if he could do that."

Yeah, those have been pretty obvious. But to be fair, lots and lots of shows do that.

Yeah, no wonder Tommy's having problems. He's too busy looking for his car keys so he can drive out of there. :D

+1 on Janet

The therapist scene had me on the floor.

Richie going up to the casket was classic.

In the fire scene, they are looking for Mike and then find the pregnant women, deliver the baby and get up leave?

That boy's head is like Sputnik; spherical but quite pointy at parts!

Mike was the one who found them in the room after the baby was born.

The fire scenes are often somehow tacked on, but this one was especially bad I think.

I thought Sheila's bf was great...Derrick...Dennis....Troy. The guy is a total airhead that seems to be so in love with Tommy t wouldn't surprise me if he's using Sheila to get to him.

johnperkins21
07-16-2007, 02:42 AM
I have to think that Troy is not really "with" Sheila. I don't know a single straight guy who notices another man's pants. So, I'm agreeing with Sir_winealot that he is most definitely using Sheila to get to him.

And I think 5thcrewman's idea that Tommy has a tumor is probably spot-on.

I can't say I'm enjoying this season quite as much as last, but a few more shots of Janet from behind in those undies will sway my opinion right quick.

+1 on the guys taking care of the Chief and his family. I wonder if this will come back to bite them in the hoohah. Great scene (even though it was cliche) when Tommy ripped into Franco and Mr. Garrity-Gavin about how the Chief used up all his bravery fighting fires back in the day.

The fire scene definitely seemed out of place. I too thought it was a dream. Were they even on duty before that scene?

I have a different theory with Sheila and her boy toy. I think the whole reason for stopping by T's apartment was to get him to sign something. Because as soon as he signed that newspaper, she was ready to get the hell out of there. I think she somehow will lift that signature, or had some carbon paper under it or something so she can transfer it to something else. That's what appears to have happened with the beach house insurance papers. I'm just saying...

tase2

I definitely think the signing of the papers will somehow end up biting Tommy in the hoo-haa.

I disagree. His problems started when Sheila told him he couldn't perform, so I think it's all psychological. Once he finds out she was lying to him (and he surely will at some point, right before he kills her :) ), he'll be back to normal.

If he can't get it up for Jennifer Esposito he's turned gay. :) Maybe Mike does it for him.

I think they can use this as coincidence. However the fact that he supposedly got excited at the dinner table when Janet touched his hand kind of contradicts the whole tumor idea. I just think that it is a plausible plot for them to develop.

I agree. That was the most POINTLESS scene EVER! Just terrible...

What bothered me about the fire scene wasn't so much that it was pointless - I think Franco later referred back to it saying something about reflecting on life and deciding whether to get married - it was that they couldn't find Mikey and made that seem so dramatic and then just dropped it without finding him. Then again, maybe the point was that they experience stuff like that all the time and usually end up ok.

Too bad Janet wasn't wearing that black thong she had on a week or 2 ago.

So basically Sheila used the Jedi mind trick on Tommy, and now he's impotent because he thinks he's impotent. Well now we know he's going to find out what she did; the only question is how. He's such a terrible liar though, why didn't he just say that it didn't work with Sheila or by himself (without going into all the details).

I also liked how they covered up the suicide for the Chief's family, but I'm surprised that the son wouldn't have at least wanted a viewing before the cremation. Someone did say that they left the honeymoon early, right?

I watched the fire scene again. The crew was at the fire house and they were called to make a run. Then it cut to them in the cubicle farm/maze. At least that makes a little sense. But it still seemed odd.

I didn't look to see if they found Mike, but someone posted earlier that it was Mike that found them and he knew the way out.

While they were busy birthin' babies. (nice line by Lou, BTW) Another firefighter, wearing his mask, opened the door and told them to come on and that he had a rescue line. I don't recall who that was. I still have it on the TiVo, I'll check it later tonight to see if there is any way to tell who it was.
