My sister gave me her Tivo Series 1. It has a life time subscription.

I would happy to know what do I need to connect it to my comcast box ?

If I cannot connect to the BOX, can I connect to the cable that comes from Comcast directly ?

Do I need a telephone line connection ? If so, why ?

Can I use that just as a giant recorder, and manually decide what to record when ?

Please HELP.

Is it a D-TiVo or a TiVo? Does this logo appear on the box?

If so, you won't be able to use it for Comcast cable, it's for DIRECTV programming only.

I would suggest that you read the manual if you have it. :)

And as bidger said, what model is this TiVo, exactly.

Given that the OP used "Divo" for the thread title, and let's face it it, 'D' isn't right next to 'T' on the keyboard, I think "D-TiVo" is what was being referenced and kaganon discovered enough when I said it wouldn't work with cable.
