Help with setting up a replacement for a lost series 2 tivo remote

Hello, I lost the remote to my toshiba series 2 tivo, and I bought a peanut remote to replace it. When i go under messages and settings to the remote control window, it does not give me any options to program a remote...do i need to restart my whole tivo system?

The Tivo peanut won't control any of the DVD functions. You need another Toshiba remote or a universal remote.
