I brought my Series 2 Tivo to my brother's house because we are going camping and I want to bring the TiVo on the RV with us. Well, i accidently went into the "Guided Setup" and now I can't get out of it.

I have no way of hooking the Tivo to his broadband internet and I also tried using the "dial up" method but I'm getting "No dial tone" or "Phone in use ; when it isn't in use" messages because my brother has broadband phone service.

My MAIN QUESTION is:

Is there ANY way I can disable or skip the "Guided Setup" so that I can just view & play what's already on my "Now Playing List"?

PLEASE HELP. We are leaving at 7AM. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: I have restarted my TiVo numerous times, but it goes directly to the "Guided Setup"...I simply want to access my "Now Playing List" for the trip.

How in the world can you "accidentally" go into "Guided Setup"?

You have to make a couple menu choices to even get to it.

I don't believe there's any way to stop the process once it's started, however.

Perhaps a portable DVD player and some rented discs for the trip?

What I meant was....is that I didn't know that once you go into "Guided Setup" you can't get out. I was in a rush and didn't read the whole message. I'm not sure if it even did say that you can't get out of it.

You would think that there is some trick of getting out of the "Guided Setup"!

I've been reading some articles and they say that you can't use the phone line method if you have VoIP (broadband) phone service.

If you don't have the new Series 3 DVR it looks like your stuck. Most of my family has VoIP phone service...This really sucks!

You will need to complete Guided Setup now that it's started. Do you have a friend or neighbor with an analog phone line where you can connect?

And what I meant was "How can you 'accidentally' start 'Guided Setup'?!?!?!?"

I was able to connect my TiVo at my uncle's house, but now I'm having trouble connecting to the TiVo service through my wireless network.

I called Tivo Support and I've been waiting for a total of 2 hours already! It is just SAD that TiVo has such a great product but bad customer support.

Everything is now fixed. It's a good thing ABC put their shows on their website. Now I can catch up on all the episodes I missed!
