Hello!
I've been lingering around this forum for a while like a sneaky bastard sucking up your knowledge and reading on what has gone wrong with others and hoping it never happened to me but.... its happened, my HDD died :(
I have an R10 and I understand from what I read that my best option is purchase a Hard drive then asking a kind soul to send me an image of an R10 it so i can burn it to my new HD. I'll have a brand new hard drive by the end of that day; but was hoping someone could help me out with the image for an R 10 please.
Thanks a lot :)

Just get Instantcake from www.dvrupgrade.com. It's only $20. They offer download or CD.

Dude, did you even look it up? Instantcake will put an image on a new hard drive. You just have to select R10 when you order it from the web site.
For the record, I actually do have an R10, but I don't particularly feel like pulling it apart just to make an image.

NoClever is right, your best option is to buy the instantcake image for $20. You'll be hard pressed to find someone here willing to send you a 300mb or larger image over the internet.

And judging from the response the OP might not have the ability to run the scripts needed to restore it without using InstantCake.

Instantcake is a no nonsense way to get you back up and running. I used it on my kids tivo and it worked out great. Quick and easy. Just remember to do a clear and delete once the drive is installed.

You'll lose some space because the OS and other stuff needs to be stored on it as well. My guess would be about 425-450 hours.

Make sure to get the correct version for your Tivo model. They are different and if you buy the wrong one then your Tivo might not boot.

Glad it's up and running-- but I sure hope you're not suggesting you're going to illegally distribute software that you paid for. ;)
