I loaded a new IC'ed drive into my SAT-T60 and it will not boot.
I have done diags on the drive and it is fine. Made sure all the cables are snug.
The Tivo shows power because the power button is lit and the fan is running.
Any ideas why I am not getting the "powering up" screen and the hard drive is not spinning up?
Thanks

Check the jumper on the drive and make sure it's set on either master or cable select. If it's a Western Digital and it's a single drive, remove the jumper altogether.
You should actually get a Powering up screen even if the drive is misconfigured or removed from the Tivo. If you don't even get the Powering up screen then you could have other issues. The biggest problem with S1 DTivos is the white ribbon cable between the power supply and the mainboard. Try removing the cable and cleaning the contacts thoroughly with a pencil eraser. Flip the cable end for end and reinsert it into the connectors. You may have to repeat this process several times before it works. Also check the IDE and power cables. If the fan and drive aren't spinning up then my money's on the ribbon cable.

Thats what is weird. The fan spins up and runs but the hard drive does not. The power button on the front lights up green. But I get no "powering up" onscreen.
I will try the white ribbon cable and will replace the hard drive cable as well.
Any other ideas if that does not work?
This was a fully functional machine until the 3.5b update decimated all my recordings with the missing LBA48 kernel.
I shut the Tivo down right after and just decided to reformat with instantcake. I put the drive back in and now this.
I will play around with it tonight and see if I can get some results.
Thanks for any and all help.

I had the same problem with a Maxtor 500 GB drive. It turned out to be that I had the drive jumpered to master, but had it plugged into the last connection on the IDE cable. When I changed the jumper to cable select, everything worked fine.
