Hi! I am having issues getting a signal with basic cable during setup. Basically I followed the included instructions step by step and while I can see the picture from the cable box test screen, and besides for a split second, there is nothing but a black screen during the basic cable test. I have tried different setups but nothing has worked. I have my cable split 3 ways (box, tivo, and cable internet) and the basic cable shows up fine when I just hook it up to the tv with out the box. The oddest thing about it is that recording seems to be working fine with both tuners. Meaning i can record a basic cable channel and a digital channel at the same time. For some reason though it constantly shows the banner at the bottom of the screen saying in can not get the basic cable signal. Sorry for making this so drawn out!

You may have a case of a simple weak signal. Try connectin the cable feed directly to the TiVo and see if that fixes your problem. Although no beneficial to how you actually need to connect everything, it can help to indentify if your cable signal is just too weak after splitting it.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I tried what you suggested, but it did the same thing where it shows it has a signal for a split second and then goes black again. What a headache.
