Hi,

Recently I upgraded my R10 with a new 250GB drive replacing my original 70GB drive. On the original drive the recorded programs in my "Now Playing" list were grouped in folders. After the new drive was set up with Instant Cake I no longer have my recording grouped in folders. Is there a way to ge my recordings grouped in folders again?

When viewing the Now Playing List, press "Enter" to see the "Now Playing Options". Select "Groups" and enable it.

Or press "2" when in the Now Playing list.
2 toggles folders on and off.

I have a Directv R10 Tivo, and the hard drive went out. So I replace that hard drive with a hard drive from another R10. The rewind, forward, and the picture works fine, but it will not allow me to RECORD anything. Could someone please help me with this.

You need to do a CLEAR AND DELETE EVERYTHING on that unit.

Clear and delete, is that done through message and set up.

Yes, press the Tivo button at the top of the remote to get to "Directv Central", go to "messages and setup", the go to "restart or reset system", then to "clear and delete everything" All of your recordings will be deleted. It worked for me when I upgraded my drive with Instant Cake

This step is necessary after an InstantCake upgrade, but is also a must after a drive swap (moving a drive from one R10 to another R10). This step of C&DE will "marry" the drive to the box it is installed in.

My R10 tivo keeps losing picture after about 3 or 4 hours. After the picture is lost I unplug and reboot, and it works fine for another 3 or 4 hours. Can someone please help me with this because it's really nerve racking.

What does the info screen say about the internal temp?

Temp as in temperature as in over heating! I apologize where do you look to see what the info screen says. If it is something that automatically pops up it's hasn't givien me a warning.

No... nothing pops up with a warning

DTivo is in the other room... but somewhere in the setup screens there is a "system info" (could be different wording) screen that has lots of info... I think you have to press page down a time or two, once you are in the correct area, to get to the temp

Oh ok I found it. It says 41C (Normal). That seems to not be the problem. Anything else that you think it might be.
