I am in the process of upgrading my HR-10 250 to a HR-20 next weekend.

I have alot of programming that I have accumulated over time that I would like to copy/save onto my home computer or source you suggest.

Is this possible?

Please outline my options and point me where to go to get the info/instructions

thanks for your help

Only if you hack it, we can't talk about it here. Try some google searches.

Your best and easiest option is to get a DVD recorder and do an analog capture (in 480i) of the HR10s shows.

If your PC has a video capture card you can connect your HR10-250 to it and use the PC's video capture software to record programs from your DVR to the PC.

I have a MacBook. Anyone know if I can do this? How do I attach the Mac to the Tivo?

Does your MacBook have video capture hardware? If so, you'll have composite/SVideo and audio inputs to record external Audio/Video sources, like your DVR. If not, you can probably buy a USB Video Capture device.
