Weird Volume

i have directv r10. when i record or watch movies (on starz mostly but ocassionally other channels). the dialogue portion of the volume is very low but when i turn the volume up to compensate, the special effects portions will blow me out of the house. i'm afraid i will blow my speakers also. this happens weather i am going through my tv(sony) or through my receiver. please help. :eek:

I believe this is because the DD5.1 flag is improperly set by the channel.

I have to change the audio output on my HR10 from DD5.1 to PCM in order to get the center channel to work properly.
