When All else Fails - UnPlug, Wait 30, Replug

I have had various problems with the DRT800 over the last two years. They have all been solved by unpluging the unit and repluging. Last night, for the first time, I had to call HUMAX. There wasn't any video fron the D* box. I could get the menus, the guide, and previously recorded programs. A very nice person at Humax started helping me right away. I had halfway expected to be told that my unit was out of warramty, it is over 2 years old. Anyway she took me back trough making sure the D* box was working and all of the cables were good. Everything was OKAY execpt the DRT800. She told me to umplug the unit wait 30 and replug the unit. It worked. THANKS HUMAX!!!! :up: :up: :up: :D

Good tip... I usually forget to wait. But it still seems to work the couple of times we've had a problem.

that is apparently sound advice for Toshiba RS-TX20's as well. See my experience in the thread entitled "Help! my RS-TX20 died", elsewhere in this forum. I've had to cycle power before, but never wait. This time, waiting several minutes before reapplying power seemed to do the trick. I'd LOVE to know why, but I'm glad it worked. Glad, also, your experience was similar.
