ok, here's the deal. I was having trouble with image dropouts on only my HD channels. I did the reset and then also clear and delete everything all to no avail. I even switched from HDMI to component which for some reason helped for about a day. Toward the end the SD channels were being affected also. (signal strength in 90's and other receiver was fine, so it's was def. a recvr issue.)

I ended up getting a replacement from DTV, they sent me an HR20 and said I could just keep my HR10 (for free since I was still under warranty).

I assume the HR10 has some sort of hard drive failure, is this something that can be fixed relatively easily (instantcake?). I'm moving soon and will get a 5LNB dish, will the HR10 work with this dish?

thanks.

Yes, InstantCake can be used to re-image a new hard drive for your HR10-250. And your HR10 will work fine with a new 5-LNB dish.
