View Full Version : Pixelation/blocking on analog channel with S3?
I've been watching shows such as Star Trek on Spike which is analog in our area. I can see the information under Messages & Settings > Account and System Information > Diagnostics where it tells me Modulation it is Analog.
Why is this happening with analog data and the S3? My understanding is that analog would only snow if the signal was weak and would not suffer the same blocking problem as digital.

S3 converts the analog channels to digital for recording. Hypothetically, if the cable source begins 'fluttering', it could overwhelm the encoders ability to handle the rapid changes (especially at lower recording quality settings) and result in blocking and pixelation. However, Ive never seen such a thing on S2 or S3. If this is what is happening, its could be a signal level issue.
