Hi all,
I fear my following question will lead back to a router permission set up.. but I will ask anyway.
BTW I'm using a Netgear DG834G router / adsl modem at present.

I can now log in internally into Tivoweb and change and view etc. I have set up an inbound rule for port 80 to allow anyone access, I have changed the tivoweb.cfg file to allow username and password etc.

All works fine internally but no one can get external connection, just page not found when they try to connect to my external IP address.

PLEASE any ideas would be great.

A couple of things to confirm at the start

1) Is the gateway address set up on Tivo correctly i.e. pointing back to your router?

2) What does the rule on the router say, that any incoming request to port 80 should be forwarded the Tivo IP address, also on port 80?

3) Have you set any prefix on TivoWeb? What do you have to type on your browser on the internal network to access TivoWeb?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. I just enter 192.168.1.200 to get to tivo on a browser

I use Tivoweb 1.9.4 with a Netgear DG834G with no issues.

It will be something to do with the way you have Port Forwarding set up or the contents of the tivoweb.cfg file is corrupt.

Try using Port 443 rather than Port 80 and see how you get on.

Also remember that your TiVo's address on the interweb will NOT be 192.168.1.200. It will be your 'public' IP address. Try using this site (http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/) to get it.

Try using this site (http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/) to get it.

Or the appropriate page in your router's web browser pages. ;)

Also.
Are you using dialup for TV guide data or network?
If using dialup, there is a problem where the gateway IP address does not get saved and so tivo and the outside world are not able to communicate.
