Hi All,
Ive had a tivo for many years and recently decided to add the tivoweb functinality. Purchased a drive from Tivo Heaven along with cahcecard.

Installed all the gubbings and can telnet the tivo on 192.168.1.200 and can even access the tivo remotel via the web browser. But I'll be dammed if I can get it to make a daily call. I keep getting "failed number unavailable".

I have tried all different IP address and guess that the router IP 192.168.1.1 is correct. I've tried with and without the ,#401 predial in the set up. Still no luck..

Can anyone please help me to solve this, Im going round the bend..

The router IP may not be correct, as if the TiVo and your PC are on the same subnet then the router field will not be used for internal-only traffic.

Assuming your PC is a windows one, try running 'tracert www.google.com' from a command prompt. The 192.168.x.x IP address listed next to '1' in the trace will be your router. If the router address is indeed correct, then copy down the IP address for www.google.com shown square brackets at the top of the trace and try pinging it ('ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' from a telnet session) on your TiVo and see if that works.

Thanks for the info.
I did the tracert and against number 1 i had a timed out responce.

I then ping the googl address from the telnet tivo session and got replies.

Any other clues?

well heres a story, currently (today) its MAilbox via BT line, but as from tomorrow I swap over to Virgin media.. Ive spent all day just trying to get everything up and working so I can allow them to come in tomorrow and install, I can then spend time getting up and running again safe in the knowledge that it all worked before they arrived and installed.

PS.
Im still on the adsl modem for now.... i have a new Netgear WPN824 that i will install tomorrow .. just want to get it all up and working before swap over

Just thought Id update the thread.
I have virgin media BB installed today and this problem has now gone away. SO I assume it was my ADSL settings...

Thanks for the feedback anyway
