It's not 3-1 (SD channel is 3) or 11-1 (11 is their OTA). A channel scan doesn't bring up a 3-1 but does bring up 11-1 but it's just a black screen. Any ideas?

Why post more then once?

BTW: It seems his question is getting answers at the other link.

In Oakland, it's at 116-1. If Comcast is consistent throughout the Bay Area, it should also be there in Los Gatos.

I don't have digital cable and my channel scan only shows up to 98-23.

I don't know how to inform comcast of this.. If they made it 3-1 like the others, possibly this would help the "QAM mapping for series 3" issue?? In other words, doesn't this mean that Comcast isn't actually sending the right codes to 'remap' the channel?

Well it maps to 11-1 for me (the real RF is 116-3) but it doesn't really help for QAM mapping in the series3, because available S3 guide data that has subchannels assumes you are using the OTA tuner.

It sounds like you have a local problem with PSIP not being passed/present for 11.1

Well, there's that one guy that *supposedly* has a way, within the Tivo UI (no hacking like the old "cable + cable box" technique), to get QAM mapping to guide data.
My total unsubstantiated guess was that this would require at least the PSIP data.

(But I'm still doubtful since he still hasn't given more info about what's needed.)

Even though I have 2 S1s and a S3, I went and got a free Comcast PVR.. it's free for a year. I asked if I could get free cablecards, and that would still be $1.50/month for the second one.

I mostly want to 'play' at some point, but I might use it "for real" after the start of the year after I unsubscribe my S1 whose lifetime transferred to my S3. (I love Tivo, but not for $6.95/month for a single tuner S1)

I must have missed that thread. The only one I saw was the one where a person requested someone send him an image and he would send it back.
