This is probably a question that's been asked and answered many times before, but a quick search didn't turn anything up.

I have an S2 with lifetime service. If I buy an S3, does that S3 qualify for the $6.95 multi-service discount rate?

Gracias!

I think you need to commit to three years or something like that to get the MSD rate down to $6.95. Their pricing plans have got to be on their web site but I don't have the energy now to hunt it down right now.

yes.

it has been asked many times

the S3 will qualify for MSD which now is 6$ off the contract price for 1,2 or 3 yr. commitment
three year commitment will get you the rate of 6.95

Zaxxon,

You should note you have to purchase the Series 3 TiVo from someplace other than TiVo.com to get MSD on the unit.

You can get $6.00 off your Monthly price, so for a Three Year term you would pay $6.95 a Month.

Also, do not buy it from Tivo.com. All tivos on there do not qualify for the MSD.

Zaxxon, I'm glad you asked this question. I was curious about that, myself.

Having said that, what are the odds the pricing plan is going to be the same when I buy an S3? :p

Not true. Get one with gift card, which works with MSD. However, you can get S3 at much lower prices from other places.

What is the deal with the rebates? What plan/price do you have to buy to qualify for the rebate?

Parzec;

You need to be a little more specific in what you are asking. I will ramble and see if I answer your question.

Current TiVo rebates are listed at: TiVo Rebate Page (http://dynamic.tivo.com/2.6.asp)
Anything you buy at Tivo.com does not qualify for a rebate.
The Series 3 rebate has expired.

Good Luck

also worth noting;
if you have a second S2 which you've been paying $6.95/month for then you can transfer that rate to the new S3.
