OK, so last week I received my Series 3, hooked it up and activated it. I'm using it strictly with OTA as I cannot receive cable, so I'm stuck with DirecTV. However, I noticed something weird about some of the channel logos, or lack thereof...

I have SIX CW affiliated channels (available to list) in my guide (WTVY-DT3, WJHG-DT2, WBMM, WTLH-DT2, WLGA/WLGA-DT), and only ONE of them has a CW logo, which is WLGA-DT (WLGA's analog does not have it).

I also have THREE MyNetworkTV affiliated channels (available to list) in my guide, but neither of them have a MNTV logo.

I'm fixing to contact TiVo pretty soon regarding some incorrect channel information, and I'll inform them of the lack of channel logos on the CW affiliates, but what I want to know is, does anyone's MyNetworkTV affiliate have a logo?

Well, I contacted TiVo regarding their incorrect guide data, and I also made sure to mention the channel logo issues which caused them to reply that:

As far as the channel logos go, the specific network has to contact our data provider and request to have the logo displayed.

So... if I want to get CW logos on my CW affiliates, who do I contact, The CW or the local station(s), or what?

Also, can anybody tell me whether or not TiVo has MyNetworkTV logos for channels, or are all MyNetworkTV affiliates blank?

Does anyone really care about MyNetwork? And the CW has cancelled all their good shows.

To answer your question, each local affiliate (or cable channel) has to request a logo. Otherwise this would be a major branding issue.

I suppose if the affiliates are O&O's, the network-proper could request it also.

I don't really care about MyNetworkTV, never ever watched it, and while I agree that the CW has cancelled all of their good shows (for the most part), I'll still watch "Supernatural" and "Smallville" out of habit. I'll probably give "Gossip Girl" a chance since Kristen Bell will be providing the voice-over work, and "Reaper" just because it sounds different... but will most likely be cancelled after the first episode or two...

The reason why I cared so much about the logos is just because I like having them there. I also found it strange that TiVo does not look at the affiliated stations of a network and simply add the logos... or even look at the programming and know. Another thing that surprised me was that WLGA-TV didn't have a CW logo, but WLGA-DT had a CW logo, and it's the exact same programming...

Another thing, the person from TiVo told me that the network (station/affiliate) has to contact their data provider (Tribune, I assume) and tell them to add the logo, yet www.zap2it.com displays the correct logos for the channels I mentioned... so shouldn't TiVo have the same information?

Also, with how hard it is to tell the stations (some of which do not reply to e-mails, etc...) about incorrect guide data (which is why I contacted TiVo in the first place), how hard do you think it will be for me to contact a station or two and tell them that TiVo is not displaying their network logo, and could they call Tribune and tell them to request for TiVo to display the channel logo?

I guess this post should really be in the help center and not in the TiVo Series 3 thread, but thanks for hearing me gripe...
